While the fest was taking place, it did not escape us that Haiti was coping with its recent earthquake. While not planned, Schubas and Lincoln Hall have donated a dollar from each TNK'10 advance ticket sold (almost $3,000). These funds will be sent to Save The Children to aid in Haitian relief. Save the Children are now racing to provide urgently needed medical attention, safe drinking water and other necessities to victims of this disaster. Having served the needs of some of Haiti’s poorest children and families since 1985, Save the Children is working for a cause we feel compelled to support.

After wrapping up a triumphant year-long victory lap celebrating Schubas' 20th anniversary- culminating with the opening of our new sister venue Lincoln Hall- we are taking a little time to look back on all of those 2009 anniversary shows.

We’d like to thank everyone who contributed to our success over the years with a special thanks to our sponsors Bud Light, The Chicago Reader, Days Inn Chicago and Boys Hope Girls Hope. After all, it takes a village, right? With that in mind, we’d like to do our part in pitching in around here. At the beginning of 2009, Schubas pledged that one dollar for every advance ticket sold to our anniversary shows (almost $5,000 total) would be donated to the wonderful organization Boys Hope Girls Hope. This organization provides underprivileged children with arms-around care, safe homes and environments, a first-class education, opportunities to learn more about themselves and the world, and academic, financial, and spiritual support through college. Boys Hope Girls Hope empowers children to realize the potential that is within them. It’s a worthy cause we are very happy to contribute to.
